Astac offers a range of Aviation English and English language courses at Rudloe College.

General English

Duration: 1-24 weeks Starting Date On request
Tuition Fees: By agreement
Objectives: To enable participants to acquire competence in the English Language skills that they most need in their work. To prepare, if required, for specific English Language examination.
Prerequisites: Entry can be at any level from beginner to advanced.
Remarks: Groups or individuals. Participants live in selected host families and enjoy a full social and cultural programme.

Aviation English ( ICAO Language Proficiency)

Duration: 4-6 weeks
Starting Date: On request
Tuition Fees: By agreement
Objectives: To enable participants to reach ICAO English Language Proficiency Level 4 by following a course of instruction in (1) Standard R/T Phraseology and (2) The Language of Distress and Emergencies.
Prerequisites: Participants should be qualified, experienced Air Traffic Controllers.
Remarks: Groups or individuals. The course is taught both in the classroom and in the simulator. Competence is measured by specially designed tests in the ATC simulator.

Aviation English

Duration: 2-12 weeks
Starting Date: On request
Tuition Fees: By agreement
Objectives: To familiarize participants with the structures, lexis and idioms used in Aviation so as to enable them to study Aviation courses, discuss Aviation topics and read Aviation journals and manuals.
Prerequisites: Participants should have some knowledge or interest in Aviation and should be working, or intending to work, in the Aviation field.
Remarks: Groups or individuals.

Technical English

Duration: 2-6 weeks
Starting Date: On request
Tuition Fees: By agreement
Objectives: To introduce participants to the English Language that is used in a variety of technical environments.
Prerequisites: Foundation level in English Language.
Remarks: The course is available in Basic Technical English, the English of the Oil Industry, Aviation and Telecommunications.

Business and Management English

Duration: 1-4 weeks
Starting Date: On request
Tuition Fees: By agreement
Objectives: To develop the ability to use English effectively and appropriately in a variety of Business and Management situations.
Prerequisites: Business experience.
Remarks: Courses are for groups or on a one-to-one basis.

Financial English

Duration 1-2 weeks
Starting Date On request
Tuition Fees By agreement
Objectives To introduce participants to the English Language used in finance and to practice this in business case studies.
Prerequisites Participants should have at least a pre-intermediate level of English and should be working in the financial sector.
Remarks Courses are for small groups or on a one-to-one basis. Courses are taught by instructors with financial qualifications .
